George and Peggy Gehrkens were having a ball at BroncoFest in 1999.

It is with sad regrets that we report that Mr. George Gehrkens, chief engineer and VP of the OV-10 Bronco program, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at 12:15PM.

George and his wife, Peggy, were active members of the OV-10 Bronco Association (George was OBA member number 106) and the the Helldiver Squadron unit of the Association of Naval Avaition in Columbus, Ohio. George was looking forward to attending the A-5 Vigilante reunion in Sanford, FL this May, but stomach cancer took his life in a very short period of time.

George will be missed by many. A genius engineer, his contributions to aviation and other mechanical things were superior and for the good of mankind.

Our thoughts and prayers are with George's family and friends. Farewell and tailwinds, George, and thank you for your many contributions to our lives.

(Our thanks to Capt. Jim Shaw, USNR-Retired... "Last of the Stoof Drivers" and XO of the ANA Helldiver Squadron... for relaying this news to us.)
