July 16, 2002 marked the OV-10 Bronco Association's first annual Founders Day Picnic and the first event to take place in OBA's new room. Between 50 and 60 people drove or flew in to show up to join in our celebrate. Four founders were present: Ron Fix, Jim Graham, Tom Skutca, and Jim Hodgson.
Visitors got a chance to tour our spaces and the VFM facility. Garry Goff briefed the group on our plans for the facility, while Jack Thompson updated everyone on the mockup restoration efforts. Bob Hubbard brought his super-scale OV-10 RC model. Garry's POW/MIA boards were once again the center of attention. There was plenty of food and good conversation to go around. Tim, Tom and Garry cut the cake marking our fourth birthday.
Special thanks to Mike "Cowpoke 13" McCollum for organizing the day.
Also, we want to welcome the following new OBA members: Allison & Tom Brouillette, Fred Mitchell, Mike Conner, Al Denison and Doc Lambert. Fred used to work for Raytheon back when they were developing the original NAIL system - in the very hangar we are in today! He graciously donated photos and documents regarding that process. Mike MaCallum also reenlisted for three more years.
Welcome Aboard all.
